The Krasnoyarsk Territory is the second largest constituent entity of the Russian Federation, occupying 2,366.8 thousand km2 (or 13.86% of the country's territory). The Krasnoyarsk Territory is part of the Siberian Federal District. In the east, the region borders with the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Irkutsk Region, in the south – with the Republic of Tyva and the Republic of Khakassia, in the west – with the Kemerovo and Tomsk regions, as well as with the Khanty-Mansiysk and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Districts.
In accordance with Federal Law No. 172-FZ dated 06/28/2014 "On Strategic Planning in the Russian Federation" and the Law of the Krasnoyarsk Territory dated 12/24/2015 No. 9-4112 "On Strategic Planning in the Krasnoyarsk Territory", the territory has developed a Strategy for the socio-economic development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory until 2030. The strategy is a goal-setting document, the conceptual basis of the strategic planning system of the region and defines the goals and objectives of the socio-economic development of the region for the long term. The document passed the procedure of public discussion, was approved by the federal authorities and the Legislative Assembly of the region (Resolution No. 5-1860P dated 05.07.2018 "On approval of the draft strategy for the socio-economic development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory until 2030"). The strategy was approved by the decree of the Government of the region dated 10/30/2018 No. 647-P. In order to implement the Strategy in accordance with the requirements of the legislation, an Action Plan for the implementation of the Strategy for the period up to 2030 has been developed. The action plan was approved by the Decree of the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory dated 06/09/2020 No. 416-P.
