In monetary terms, the share of medicines from Russian manufacturers increased to 36.8% in 2023, compared with 30.8% in 2019. In physical terms, the share of Russian medicines also increased, amounting to 62.9% in 2023 against 61.3% in 2019.
• In 2023, sales of generics amounted to 0.8 trillion rubles (36%), and sales of original drugs amounted to 1.4 trillion rubles (64%). Against the background of the overall growth of the market, the average annual growth rate of generics for the period from 2019 to 2023 was 17%, while the increase in sales of original drugs over the same period was 12%
• The Russian pharmaceutical market has a stable growth trend in 2019-2023, characterized by an increase in the total market volume in both monetary and physical terms. At the same time, the growth rate of the share of domestic manufacturers of medicines is growing faster than foreign competitors, and the range of medicines continues to expand.
