The Blagodatny gold mining quarry is awaiting a large-scale reconstruction

Glavgosexpertiza of Russia issued a positive conclusion based on the results of the review of design and estimate documentation for the reconstruction of structures of the Blagodatny quarry in the North Yenisei district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The project to increase the production and processing capacities of the Blagodatnoye field is included in the Yeniseiskaya Sibir KIP.
The development of gold mining is a determining factor in the socio-economic development of the North Yenisei region in the long term. Blagodatny quarry is the third largest gold mining company in the country in terms of production. The Blagodatnoye gold deposit is represented by two ore bodies, each of which was developed in separate sections – No. 1 "Northern" and No. 2 "Southern", and combined into a single quarry in 2020.
"After the reconstruction, it is planned to increase the production capacity of the Blagodatny quarry. The placement of overburden waste rock is provided in the projected dumps "Yuzhny" and "Blagodatny". The main means of protecting mine workings from underground and surface waters for both sections of the quarry is a quarry drainage, equipped with powerful modern pumping stations and a pumping station," said Nikolai Sigaev, chief expert of the Glavgosexpertiza of Russia project.
The development of the deposit's infrastructure will increase gold production in the region and the country as a whole. More than 350 jobs will be created in the region.
