The Government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and PJSC NK Rosneft signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The document was signed by Mikhail Kotyukov, Head of the region, and Igor Sechin, Chief Executive Officer of Rosneft Oil Company.
The agreement establishes the main areas of cooperation, which involve the implementation of industrial, financial and social programs in the region, as well as the creation of favorable conditions for the exploration and production of hydrocarbons.
It should be noted that the Krasnoyarsk Territory is a strategic region of Rosneft's presence: Vostok Oil, the largest investment project in the global oil and gas industry, is being implemented here, with a resource base exceeding 6.5 billion tons of premium low-sulfur oil. There are also large enterprises of the company operating in the Krasnoyarsk Territory – RN-Vankor, Vostsibneftegaz, Slavneft-Krasnoyarsk Oil Refinery, Achinsk Oil Refinery, service, sales and logistics enterprises.
The document provides for cooperation between the parties in the field of development of the industrial and scientific potential of the region, as well as import substitution through the involvement of regional enterprises as contractors and suppliers of Rosneft.
As part of the agreement, the Government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Rosneft also intend to implement joint projects in the field of environmental protection. The key in this area is the unique forest climate project already initiated by the parties and approved by the President of Russia, which is designed to unlock the potential of the region for natural absorption of greenhouse gases.
In addition, Rosneft will provide assistance in issues of socio-economic development of the region, strengthening social stability, improving the quality and accessibility of education, as well as the implementation of programs for staffing investment projects.
