An auxiliary intelligent system for flotation devices has started operating at the Norilsk Enrichment Plant (NOF). The development will help the company's specialists in choosing the most successful and effective option for managing flotation machines. The implementation of the intelligent system was carried out as part of the modernization of the Norilsk Enrichment Plant, which is part of the Southern Cluster project included in the Yenisei Siberia CIP.
Information is sent to the system from the enrichment plant in real time. The so—called "couriers" analyzers help in this. Every 15-20 minutes, the production automation service writes off the sample data, which accumulates both per shift and per day. This information is then transferred to the server side of the intelligent system. The entire process is displayed here: from the air flow rate on the equipment to its control. It is at this stage that the system gives advice to the floatators.
"We are systematically moving to a new stage of efficiency, maintaining the company's reputation as leading in the field of digitalization. Keeping up with the times, we are introducing innovations into the production units of both the company as a whole and each asset in particular," said Damir Nuriev, Chief Manager of the Innovation Department at ZF Norilsk Nickel.
The implementation of the system began back in 2020, and during this time, experts have worked out all possible options for the development of the technology. Pilot tests of the innovation are currently being conducted at the enterprise, and very soon it is planned to switch to a fully automatic mode of operation.
