Representatives of Chinese authorities, as well as 130 entrepreneurs of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (PRC) took part in the I Krasnoyarsk Investment Forum and EXPO "Krasnoyarsk Territory and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region" – 2023.

31.10.2023

At the opening ceremony, the guests of the forum were greeted by Valery Semenov, Deputy Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and Zhang Lei, Deputy Chairman of the People's Political Consultative Council of China of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The head of the Chinese delegation noted that the forum provides opportunities for joint promotion of interregional cooperation to a new level.

"If we have mutual interests, we will be able to overcome any obstacles. I sincerely hope that we will all join forces for effective cooperation in order to promote economic and trade relations between our regions," Zhang Lei said in his welcoming speech.

Addressing the forum participants, Valery Semenov stressed that the development of relations between Russia and China depends on regional cooperation.

"The Krasnoyarsk Territory is a good example of this. Our region is ready to increase the supply of lumber, fuel pellets, and wooden house kits. Being one of the main grain exporting regions to China, we see the prerequisites for its increase. We are interested in supplying agricultural products with a high degree of processing: flour, confectionery, wild plants, meat and dairy products, animal feed, rapeseed oil.  If the regions interact, we will have very good cooperation in general with China and with the whole of Eurasia. This is what we strive for," said the deputy head of the region.

During the forum, Sergey Ladyzhenko, General Director of the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation, presented the investment and economic potential of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Yenisei Siberia integrated investment project and priority investment proposals. Representatives of the Corporation also held more than 50 negotiations with potential investors from China and assisted in organizing B2B meetings of Chinese and regional entrepreneurs: 40 negotiations were held between the companies.

Among the issues discussed by the Russian and Chinese delegates at the event were increasing mutual trade turnover, expanding cooperation in the field of timber processing, organizing the production of high-value-added forest products in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, implementing projects in the region with the participation of Chinese investors, as well as attracting tourists from China to the region.
