The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Traditional Medicine Forum 2023 was held in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province in southeastern China. The international event was attended by business representatives from the regions of Yenisei Siberia. Entrepreneurs presented samples of their products at the exhibition of traditional medicine, which took place within the framework of the forum.
The forum was attended by representatives of the healthcare sectors from Russia, China, India, the Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Belarus, Myanmar, Nepal, Turkey and Sri Lanka. The events were attended by officials at the level of ministries of the SCO member states, representatives of the World Health Organization, specialists and experts in the field of traditional medicine.
The forum participants exchanged views on the development of traditional medicine in the SCO space, including aspects of integrating this area into existing healthcare systems, as well as the possibility of unifying the relevant legislative framework. B2B meetings, presentations and conferences dedicated to the globalization of traditional medicine were also held within the framework of the event.
Following the results of the forum, the Russian and Chinese sides agreed on cooperation in the field of trade in medicinal herbs and the promotion of traditional medicine.
