In the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, as part of the Vostok Oil project, winter roads were launched for the first time from the Payakhskoye field to the oil loading terminal in the North Bay, which began construction in 2022, and from the North Bay to the port of Dixon. The development of the Payakh cluster deposits and the construction of the North Bay port are included in the Yenisei Siberia KIP.

The total length of these seasonal roads exceeded 400 km. In general, the network of winter trucks providing the Vostok Oil project is 2,000 km. They pass through the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (Taimyr) and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

556 units of specialized equipment and more than 1,000 employees were involved in the construction of winter roads. More than 2,000 heavy-duty trucks and other specialized equipment will be involved in the delivery of goods for Vostok Oil facilities on winter roads this year. They will have to transport more than 500 thousand tons of various cargoes from the production bases "Tochino", "Tanalau", "Karaul", "Priluki", "Bay North", where they entered the river navigation on the Yenisei and along the Northern Sea Route.

Traditionally, all winter roads laid by oil workers perform an important social function – they are used by local residents and the indigenous population of the tundra to supply the polar territories.

The opening of winter roads will make it possible to provide Vostok Oil facilities with cargo in a timely manner for the construction of priority oil transportation system facilities, berths and an oil loading terminal in the North Bay, generation and production drilling facilities, and social infrastructure.

For reference:RN-Vankor, a subsidiary of Rosneft, is the operator for the development of the fields of the Vankor and Payakh clusters included in the Vostok Oil project.
Vostok Oil is the largest investment project in the global oil and gas industry with a resource base of 6.5 billion tons of premium low–sulfur oil. It includes 52 license areas in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, where 13 oil and gas fields are located, including the fields of the Vankor and Payakh clusters.
