Regional road workers paved the Vysokogorsky Bridge and the approaches to it. The bridge construction project is included in the Yenisei Siberia Construction Project, more than 7 billion rubles were allocated from the federal and regional budgets for its construction.
Andrey Zhuravlev, Head of the Department of Highways in the Krasnoyarsk Territory:
"The total length of the paved road is more than four kilometers. The contractor has already begun to install lighting on the bridge, ship alarms and transport security equipment, and has begun installing road sign information. The work is scheduled to be completed by July 25, after which the preparation of the facility for commissioning will begin."
Workers have completed the dismantling of the building structures of the last temporary support in the riverbed between the 6th and 7th pillars of the bridge. Specialists also conducted a sonar survey of the site in the area of the navigable spans of the bridge to confirm the fact of cleaning the Yenisei water area from foreign objects and the safety of ship traffic.
It is planned to test the Vysokogorsky Bridge in the coming days. During the inspection, the main structural elements will be fully examined, and the structure itself will be subjected to dynamic and static loads using trucks.
Andrey Zhuravlev, Head of the Department of Highways in the Krasnoyarsk Territory:
"Such tests are carried out at every construction of large bridge crossings. Their goal is to establish the compliance of the actual condition of the bridge's load–bearing structures with the design loads. Based on the results of the tests, the commission will assess the possibility of putting the bridge into operation."
According to the contract, the facility is scheduled to be commissioned at the end of 2023.
With the advent of the bridge near the village of Vysokogorsky, year-round transport accessibility of the areas of the right bank of the Yenisei and the North Yenisei region, which was previously provided by ferry and ice crossings, will appear. The bridge will become the first major infrastructure facility in the Angara-Yenisei economic region of the region and will open the way to the development of a vast territory.
