The next stage of assembly of equipment for a new power unit has been completed at Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3. A drum has already been installed here – one of the key elements of the equipment, where the steam-water mixture is divided into two phases: steam and hot water. The construction of the second power unit is carried out within the framework of the project to increase the capacity of the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3, included in the Yeniseiskaya Sibir KIP.
At the same time, power engineers are building the first cooling tower at Krasnoyarsk thermal power plants, a device for cooling a large amount of water with a directed flow of atmospheric air, which will "close" the cooling process of the equipment of the power unit under construction and exclude the intake and discharge of water into the Yenisei. A closed cycle of water use will reduce the thermal load on the reservoir and reduce the volume of water consumption from the Yenisei by almost 30 thousand cubic meters per hour.
Reducing water consumption is not the only environmental effect of the upcoming commissioning of the second power unit. During its construction, a dry slag and ash removal system is provided. Also, in order to reduce emissions into the atmospheric air, the power unit will be equipped with a modern electric filter with exhaust gas purification of over 99%: such filters are now being installed at the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1.
"The construction of the second power unit will reduce the load from the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1. Part of the thermal power will be transferred to CHP-3, actually outside the city limits, as a result, the influence of the stations on the air in the city will be reduced. Another task of the large construction site is to increase the reliability of heat supply in the Sovetsky microdistrict powered by CHP—3 and provide additional opportunities for the development of Krasnoyarsk by connecting new residential buildings and social facilities on the Runway, in the Severny and Solnechny microdistricts," said Oleg Petrov, director of the Yenisei branch of SGK.
It should be recalled that SGK invests 27.5 billion rubles in the construction of the second power unit of the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3 with a capacity of 185 MW. Completion of all construction, installation and commissioning of the equipment is planned by the end of 2024.
