The development of coal deposits in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory is proceeding on schedule in compliance with environmental safety requirements and using advanced technologies. This was discussed yesterday at a meeting with the participation of Mikhail Kotyukov, the head of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, and representatives of the Severnaya Zvezda company, which is implementing a project to create a coal cluster in Taimyr. The parties discussed the current state of the project, as well as topical issues of its implementation.
The project includes the development of the Syradasai coal deposit and the northwestern part of the Taimyr coal basin. Both investment projects are part of the Yenisei Siberia Investment Project, which has received the support of Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Government of the Russian Federation. The projects have also been given the status of regional investment projects. The investors are the companies Severnaya Zvezda and VostokUgol-Dixon. Severnaya Zvezda LLC is a resident of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation.
"The development of the northern territories is a strategic task for the region and for the country as a whole. And we are ready to provide all the necessary support so that modern production facilities with a minimum burden on the environment are created here, new jobs with decent wages are organized," said Mikhail Kotyukov, head of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The Severnaya Zvezda company uses the latest technologies for coal mining, processing and transportation in the development of the Syradasayskoye field, aimed at eliminating environmental risks and minimizing anthropogenic impact on the territory. In addition, the company participates in the implementation of social projects in the north of the region. In particular, the school in the village of Dixon has renovated the food hall, gym, and heat supply system.
"The Syradasai coal deposit is one of the largest in the world, its resources are estimated at more than 5 billion tons of coal. And thanks to the comprehensive support of this investment project, not only is a coal industrial cluster being actively built here, but the infrastructure is also developing. For example, the Yenisei seaport is currently being built, which will become another stronghold on the Northern Sea Route and will be able to receive vessels with a cargo capacity of more than 100 thousand tons. The first stage of construction of the highway (56 km) has also been completed, which will connect the main facilities of the complex, two shift camps for 600 people with all necessary infrastructure are ready. In the future, the construction of an airfield and two thermal power plants is planned," said Sergey Ladyzhenko, General Director of ANO Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation.
In turn, representatives of the company noted that Severnaya Zvezda is ready to continue to actively help in the development of social infrastructure.
We should add that at the moment Severnaya Zvezda LLC has concluded agreements with the Government of the region, the administrations of the village of Dixon and Taimyr on the socio-economic development of the territory. The standard of responsibility in the company's relations with the indigenous peoples of the North has been adopted.
The development of the northwestern part of the Taimyr coal basin is in the stage of geological exploration. It is also planned to build a marine terminal, a shift camp, an oil depot, a highway and energy supply facilities here. The investor is VostokUgol-Dixon LLC.
