Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3 is preparing to accept a generator for the second power unit under construction

The turbine generator for the second power unit of the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3 under construction was manufactured at the Novosibirsk ELSIB plant. The 220 MW hydrogen-cooled generator has been successfully tested at the manufacturing plant, and now it is being prepared for shipment to Krasnoyarsk.
The construction of the second power unit at the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3 is carried out as part of the project to increase the capacity of the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3, included in the KIP "Yeniseiskaya Sibir". All work is proceeding according to schedule. Thus, work on the foundation for the turbine and generator is currently being completed. The installation of metal structures for the frame of the main building, wall fencing, and the roof of the turbine compartment of the building of the new power unit has been completed.
The main element of the future power unit, a steam turbine, was manufactured in Yekaterinburg at the Ural Turbine Plant, and it has already passed acceptance. Three turbine rotors have been delivered to the construction site, and the rest of the components are expected to arrive. The commissioning of the second power unit with a capacity of 185 MW and a thermal capacity of 270 Gcal is scheduled for the end of 2024.
The construction of a new power unit, the cost of which is estimated at 27.5 billion rubles, will, according to experts, improve the quality and reliability of Krasnoyarsk's energy supply, create new opportunities for the development of the actively built-up Sovetsky district and the Pokrovka microdistrict. Also, the commissioning of the new CHP-3 power unit will allow to redistribute capacity in the city and unload the Krasnoyarsk CHP-1.
