The installation of the last span of the Vysokogorsky Bridge has been completed

The governor of the region, Alexander Uss, inspected the progress of the construction of the Vysokogorsky Bridge. Today, the builders have completed the installation of the last bridge span, connecting the two banks of the Yenisei. The bridge construction project is included in the KIP "Yenisei Siberia".
Representatives of the contractor reported to the head of the region that the construction of the facility is ahead of schedule. The standard deadline for the completion of the facility is the end of 2023, but they expect to complete the work by autumn.
Andrey Zhuravlev, Head of the Department of Highways in the Krasnoyarsk Territory: "To date, we have completed the installation of the bridge's metal structures and are close to 88% construction readiness. All 11 pillars and 10 superstructures have been erected. The last span of the bridge in the Yenisei riverbed has been installed. The main stage of construction has been completed, but there is still a large amount of work ahead. These are the laying of asphalt on the bridge and approaches to it, the installation of outdoor lighting, drainage, and a whole range of work on the organization of road safety."
The governor congratulated the builders and residents of the region on a landmark event – the connection of the banks of the Yenisei River by the northernmost highway bridge.
"Today we will cross on foot from one bank of the Yenisei to the other, but in just a few months cars will go here. I am sure that the bridge will be completed not only on time, but even ahead of schedule and put into operation before the end of summer. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the builders who coped with the work on this technically complex facility, where severe natural and weather conditions, large water drops of up to 6 meters literally within 2-3 days, and a powerful river flow. It is gratifying to note that the construction of the road network is underway in parallel, much has already been done – an exit from the bridge has been made, a bypass of the village of Vysokogorsky, technological roads have been laid along the coast. I think that in the coming years we will be able to equip about 50 kilometers of roads deep into the Yenisei right bank," the head of the region noted.
Alexander Uss stressed that for residents of the northern territories, the construction of the Vysokogorsky Bridge is a really long–awaited event. It will provide a year-round stable transport connection with the right bank of the river, which remains inaccessible to road transport for a significant part of the year. With the commissioning of the facility, local residents will no longer have an urgent need to use the ferry in summer and the ice crossing in winter.
The bridge is also very important for the development of the region's economy, primarily in the Lower Angara region, where huge natural resources are concentrated. The bridge will create conditions for the implementation of investment projects that are being implemented in the Angara-Yenisei economic district, the emergence of new jobs, increase tax revenues, and help improve the quality of life of people. Currently, the development of mining enterprises in this zone is limited due to the inaccessibility for road transport, materials are imported by ferry or by ice crossings.
