The delegation of the Krasnoyarsk Territory took part in the events of the VIII Russian-Chinese EXPO in Harbin. The start of the work of a large–scale international platform was given by the heads of two states - Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping. At the opening ceremony, they welcomed the EXPO participants and talked about the importance of relations between the two countries.
Mikhail Kotyukov, Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, spoke at the plenary session of the Russian-Chinese Forum on International Cooperation. The head of the region spoke about the successful experience of partnership between the Krasnoyarsk Territory and China and new promising joint projects. Mikhail Kotyukov stressed that in the last five years alone, the trade turnover of the region with the regions of China has more than doubled, and the cooperation of the territories has great potential for development.
Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Mikhail Kotyukov: "We are interested in deepening the processing of raw materials and exporting higher-grade products. For example, we plan to completely recycle the entire volume of rapeseed grown here in order to export oil from the region, not seeds. We also have a strong engineering school and mechanical engineering experience, so we are ready to localize new production facilities here. We are interested in the experience of creating unmanned aircraft systems and microelectronics. We are ready, with the participation of Chinese partners, to produce special equipment for agriculture, logging, and organize assembly plants in the region."
A number of investment projects are being implemented in the Krasnoyarsk Territory together with Chinese companies. Among them are the creation of timber processing and woodworking industries, the production of oriented chipboards. A number of other investment projects are in the process of approval.
During the international event, representatives of the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation held talks with potential investors. The meetings were attended by more than 15 companies, whose representatives expressed interest in infrastructure projects in the Krasnoyarsk Territory: construction of transport and logistics centers, industrial parks and tourist accommodation facilities. During the negotiations, potential investors were also presented with projects for the deep processing of minerals, agricultural products, and wood; initiatives aimed at localizing machine-building industries and their components in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Following the meetings, we agreed on a visit of investors to the Krasnoyarsk Territory, during which investment sites will be presented to the guests.

The VIII Russian-Chinese EXPO is taking place in Harbin from May 17 to May 21, 2024. The exhibition has been held annually since 2014 with alternating host countries and is an important trade and industrial platform that promotes the expansion and diversification of partnership between Russia and China.
EXPO traditionally includes a large-scale exhibition. In 2024, innovative developments and joint Russian-Chinese projects in the field of mechanical engineering, metallurgy, solutions for energy, information technology, production financing, logistics and other areas will be presented. Special attention at the exhibition is paid to the presentation of the tourism potential of Russia.
