The Glavgosexpertiza of Russia has issued a positive opinion on dredging operations as part of the construction of the water area of the cargo berth and channel of the offshore coal terminal of the Syradasayskoye field. The project for the development of the field, which is being implemented by the Severnaya Zvezda company, is included in the Yeniseiskaya Sibir KIP.

The design marks of the bottom during the construction of the facility will be minus 16.0 m – for the maneuverable operational water area of the berth, minus 16.2 m - for the channel for the exit of loaded vessels, which will allow large bulk ships with a deadweight of more than 100 thousand tons to enter the Yenisei port.

It is planned to perform all the dredging of the water area of the cargo berth and the channel for the exit of loaded vessels already in the navigation of this year. The facility will be built in accordance with the development plan of the Northern Sea Route approved by the Russian Government for the period up to 2035. The developer will be FSUE Hydrographic Enterprise.

Recall that the Yenisei seaport is being created on the shore of the Kara Sea and is one of the key facilities of the Severnaya Zvezda company's project to develop the Syradasai coal deposit in Taimyr. The port will include a cargo berth, a coastal area and a connecting dam, where a conveyor line and a ship loading machine will be installed. The area of the Yenisei seaport will be more than 20 hectares. The complex will also include warehouses where up to 1 million tons of finished products can be stored at the same time.

"The development of the Northern Sea Route and the increase in cargo traffic along it is one of the most important tasks set by the President of Russia and outlined in the NSR development plan. It is planned that from 2026 the Yenisei seaport will provide an additional cargo base of the Northern Sea Route in the amount of more than 5 million tons per year," said Igor Hafizov, General Director of Severnaya Zvezda LLC.

For reference:

The project for the development of the Syradasai coal deposit includes the creation of a coal mine with a capacity of 5 million tons per year at the first stage and 10 million tons per year at the second, the construction of a processing plant and the creation of necessary infrastructure, including an offshore coal terminal, a highway, a shift camp, a power plant and other facilities.

To date, the construction of a shift camp for 600 people has been completed at the field, where all the infrastructure necessary for comfortable living of employees has been created, a 52-kilometer highway has been built from the seaport to the coal mine, preparations are underway for the construction of two thermal power plants.

The design documentation for the development of the Syradasai coal deposit has passed the State Environmental Expertise.
