The environmental modernization of Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1 continues. The equipment upgrade is part of a large–scale investment project of the Siberian Generating Company (SGC). This initiative is part of the Yenisei Siberia CIP.
Currently, the twelfth and thirteenth electrostatic precipitators are being installed on the territory of the station. A new 35 MW turbine is being assembled in parallel. There will be two of them in total according to the modernization program of CHP-1. The first one is already being assembled in the workshop, and the second one will arrive at the station before the end of summer.
Since 2018, 11 electrostatic precipitators have been built at CHPP-1, which are designed to purify flue gases from solid particles. The efficiency of such installations exceeds 99% – fine impurities settle in special bunkers and do not enter the atmosphere.
The environmental modernization of Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1 will be completed in 2026. 15 electrostatic precipitators will be installed, two turbines and two boilers will be replaced. Based on the results, SGC expects to have an effect in reducing the total emissions of the plant by 20%, and by 80% for solid particles. In addition to this large-scale work, the company is completing the construction of a second power unit and an electrostatic precipitator at CHPP-3, and has equipped all pipes of the Krasnoyarsk CHPP SGK with online emission monitoring sensors. The data from them is transmitted to the company's website and transmitted to the Ministry of Ecology of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
