The environmental modernization of Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1 is being completed. Two new electrostatic precipitators have been put into operation, and now 13 of the 15 planned modern gas purification plants are already operating at the station. The remaining two electrostatic precipitators will be launched in the first half of this year. The equipment upgrade is part of a large–scale investment project of the Siberian Generating Company (SGC) for the ecological modernization of the plant. This initiative is part of the Yenisei Siberia CIP.
Each of the new electrostatic precipitators captures more than 99% of the dust. After the launch of all gas purification plants, the station's dust emissions will be reduced by 80%, and total emissions by 20%.
"In June of this year, we will complete the installation and put into operation the last two electrostatic precipitators. This means that all boilers of the plant will be equipped with highly efficient gas purification equipment," said Oleg Bubnovsky, General Director of Yenisei TGC (a division of SGC in the Yenisei Siberia region). – The environmental modernization of CHPP-1 will be fully completed in the second half of 2026. This is not just fulfilling obligations, it is our contribution to the quality of life in Krasnoyarsk."
Renovation of the Krasnoyarsk TPP-1 has been underway since 2018. The total investment of SGK in the modernization of the plant is 22 billion rubles. The program includes not only the installation of electrostatic precipitators. A new chimney with a height of 275 meters was erected at CHPP-1, which replaced three lower ones – from 105 to 120 meters.
Along with the environmental modernization, the main generating equipment is also being updated. Two new boilers have already been commissioned at the station and two turbines with a capacity of 35 MW each are being installed.
