The mining company Amikan (part of Polymetal JSC) has started drilling a new tunnel at the Veduginsky deposit in the North Yenisei Municipal District of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. 4.6 kilometers of sinking are planned for 2026.

The primary task now is to create conditions for the construction of a conveyor belt for ore extraction, which will lift the rock mass to the surface without involving underground machinery. This will increase the production and economic efficiency of the technological process, as well as make it more environmentally friendly, since the conveyor is powered by an electric drive.

Alexey Sharabarin, Managing Director of Amikan Group: "The technology has already proven itself at Polymetal's Chukchi enterprise. We are currently working in two directions: the miners are increasing the length of the workings, and the builders are preparing design documentation for the installation of a cascade of conveyors and a stacker. The processes are parallel, and at the end of 2029, the first ore extracted in the subway will go to the ore warehouse of the processing plant."

The launch of the Veduga factory is scheduled for the summer of 2026. The ore for it is currently being accumulated by the quarry. With reaching the design capacity, the annual processing volume will amount to 2.2 million tons of ore.

In 2019, the Veduga project was included in the Yenisei Siberia CIP. The Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation assisted the investor in including the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the list of regional investment projects, as well as assisted in the registration of land relations and the creation of transport infrastructure.
