Governor Mikhail Kotyukov, together with Deputy Chairmen of the Federation Council Nikolai Zhuravlev and Inna Svyatenko, assessed the progress of construction of the Montenegrin mining and processing complex based on deposits of copper, nickel and platinum group metals. The site is located 15 km from Norilsk, the project is part of the Yenisei Siberia CIP.
The decision to develop the Chernogorskoye field received federal support. In 2021, a document on financing the project was signed with the participation of President Vladimir Putin. Now the task of creating a new production facility is almost completed.
According to Ahmed Bazhaev, General Director of Chernogorskaya GRK LLC, the construction readiness of the complex has exceeded 80%. Mining operations have been underway in the quarry since February, the main technological equipment is being installed at the factory, and electrical systems are being tested. The main construction and installation works have been completed at the CHPP, gas has been supplied, and commissioning of generating plants is underway. The first shipments of copper and nickel concentrates are planned to be delivered in November.
The design capacity of the first stage is 7 million tons of ore per year. After the development of the southern part of the Norilsk-1 field, the total capacity of the two stages will be 14 million tons. The project's work horizon will exceed half a century.
Mikhail Kotyukov, Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory: "For the region, this is the development of industrial potential, tax revenues, and new jobs. And a reason for pride is that another powerful production facility is being formed here, in one of Russia's leading economic centers."
