Mikhail Kotyukov, Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, checked the readiness to open an enrichment plant at the Veduginsky deposit in the North Yenisei District. To date, Polymetal JSC has completed the construction of the facility, and the company has started commissioning. The factory will start operating this year.
During the visit, the head of the region inspected the crushing, crushing and flotation departments, and also got acquainted with the operation of automated process control systems. The design capacity of the enterprise is about 2.2 million tons of ore per year. The finished product, a concentrate of resistant gold—bearing ores, will be processed at the Amur Hydrometallurgical Combine in the Khabarovsk Territory.
The development of Veduga is carried out in a combined way: open-pit operations began in 2024, ore is being accumulated in a warehouse. This year, the production volume will reach 1 million tons. Raw materials from the underground mine will start to be produced in 2029.
Mikhail Kotyukov, Governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory: "The North Yenisei District is the golden heart of Siberia, where 20% of Russian gold is mined. Today, major investment projects are being implemented here, including those related to the development of the Veduginskoye field. A modern processing plant is being prepared for opening. This is a good sign: Russian companies, despite the difficulties, see opportunities for development. The construction of the factory has already been completed, commissioning is underway, and all systems are working smoothly. I am particularly pleased that almost half of the equipment is Russian—made. I am sure that this is an important achievement. New jobs will be created, and serious tax revenues to budgets of all levels are expected in the future. We will continue to support such projects."
Evgeny Pushnoy, Director of the Krasnoyarsk branch of Polymetal: "Veduga is our first enterprise in the Siberian Federal District, so this is a real milestone for the company. For half a century, the potential of the deposit has not been fully exploited due to the lack of necessary technologies. But today, thanks to the advanced solutions of our engineers, we are contributing to the technological independence of the country, and the Krasnoyarsk Territory has received an additional impetus for development."
It is planned that about 1.5 thousand employees will work here. A modern shift camp with a canteen, a shop, a gym, a medical unit and rest rooms has been built for them. Last year, the company deployed a closed wireless broadband network using LTE technology.
With the factory reaching its design capacity, the annual amount of tax deductions to the regional budget will reach 8 billion rubles.
For reference:
Veduga field was discovered in 1977. It is located in the North Yenisei District of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, 520 km north of Krasnoyarsk. It has year-round transport accessibility. Ore reserves (at the beginning of 2026) amount to 36.1 million tons of ore with an average gold content of 3.7 g/ton. Amikan GRC (the legal entity of the project) is included in the Yenisei Siberia integrated investment project and has the status of a regional investment project (RIP). The project operator is Polymetal JSC.
