Construction of Nizhneboguchanskaya HPP

The reservoir of the Nizhneboguchanskaya HPP will be located on the lands of the Boguchansky and Kezhemsky districts. The construction of the hydroelectric power plant will create about 4,000 new jobs. The installed capacity of the hydroelectric power station is 600 – 1200 MW. Upon reaching the set operating parameters, the station will provide an average annual electricity generation of 3300 million kWh. Nizhneboguchanskaya HPP will become the fifth large dam on Angara and will be located 20 km above the village of Boguchany in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The new reservoir will stretch 107 km upstream of the Angara River. 

The project provides for the implementation of a set of measures to improve the socio-economic climate: the creation of a business park - an industrial zone for small businesses; the creation of a research and educational base at the Siberian Federal University for Hydroelectric Power plants; fisheries development of the reservoir; commercial development of the reservoir; recreational development of the reservoir and coastal strip; transport development of the reservoir.
