Olesya Ardasova, Deputy Minister of Economy and Regional Development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, took part in the XIII International Forum "The Arctic: Present and Future" in St. Petersburg. The forum gathers more than 2000 participants annually. For two days, representatives of government authorities, heads of large companies and banks, leading experts of the scientific and civil society discussed comprehensive and strategic solutions for the socio-economic development of the Arctic zone and worked out tactical steps for their implementation, presented domestic projects in the Arctic, assessed the investment potential and opportunities of the northern regions.
At the strategic session "Arctic Portfolio: attracting investments to the Russian Arctic", Olesya Ardasova spoke about the investment policy of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and what conditions have been created for large businesses and residents of the Russian Arctic in the region.
Deputy Minister of Economy and Regional Development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Olesya Ardasova: "Almost 23% of the entire Arctic zone of the Russian Federation is located in our region, so the topic of its development is one of the key ones for the region's economy. About 90% of the investment portfolio of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (in terms of planned investments) are projects that are being implemented on the territory of the Arctic zone of the region or are planned for implementation."
At the moment, 31 investors in the fields of services, tourism, mining, etc. are residents of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation in the region. The investment portfolio is 37.6 billion rubles. Investment projects imply the creation of about 1,750 new jobs. Another 42 investors with a total investment volume of more than 4 billion rubles are preparing applications for the status of a resident of the Russian Arctic. Thanks to their projects, more than 2,600 new jobs may appear in the fields of agriculture, tourism, services, IT, etc.
To develop investment activities and attract investments into the economy of the region, an almost complete set of state support tools provided for by federal legislation has been adopted.

The existing competencies and resources, the stable work of large companies with large-scale plans to expand production, the active work of the region in terms of increasing the level of technological development will not only maintain a high level of investment activity, but also increase it, despite the current restrictions. This will ensure the sustainable development of the region with stable employment and an increase in the standard of living of the population."
