The RN-Vankor company (part of the Rosneft oil and gas production complex) has started winter cargo delivery along the Northern Sea Route and winter roads to Vostok Oil facilities. This season, it is planned to deliver a record 700 thousand tons of building materials, machinery and equipment to the production bases and sites of one of the largest construction projects in the country in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. This is almost 20% more than the volumes delivered last year during this period.

27.12.2023

The first sea vessels with cargo for Vostok Oil, accompanied by icebreakers, have already arrived at Severn Bay and the ports of Dudinka and Dixon. Also, ice piles on the Yenisei River are being built to receive and unload ships in the area of the Tanalau, Karaul and Vorontsovo bases.

The range of goods delivered includes metal structures and pipe products, reinforced concrete products, cement, technological equipment, supports, cable and wire products, special equipment, vehicles, etc.

For their further delivery to production sites, RN-Vankor is building over 2,000 km of winter roads. More than 1,000 road builders and over 500 units of specialized equipment have been involved in the construction of the seasonal highway network.

Winter roads pass through the territory of the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. They connect the production bases and facilities of the Vostok Oil oil transportation system in operation and under construction with the fields of the Vankor and Payakh clusters, as well as with the North Bay port. The Taimyr part of the winter track has increased by 100 km this season compared to last season – up to 1,045 km.

For the first time, winter highways were built between oil pumping stations No. 2 and No. 3 along the route of the oil pipeline under construction from Vankor to the North Bay. This provided a direct connection from Dudinka to the "Bay of the North" and the port of Dixon.

With the onset of persistent frosts, the main routes between the Vankor, Tagul and Suzun fields have been launched, from where access to the new Vostok Oil facilities on Taimyr opens.

The opening of winter roads will ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment for the construction of priority facilities of Vostok Oil. Traditionally, seasonal highways, including ice crossings over the Yenisei River in the areas of Dudinka and Igarka, perform an important social function — they are open to transport of local residents and small peoples of the North. Roads are used in supplying the Arctic with necessary household goods, as well as food.

RN-Vankor, a subsidiary of Rosneft, is the operator for the development of the fields of the Vankor and Payakh clusters, which are part of the Vostok Oil project.

Vostok Oil is the largest investment project in the global oil and gas industry with a resource base of 6.5 billion tons of premium low–sulfur oil. It includes 52 license areas in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, where 13 oil and gas fields are located.
