A turbine of a new power unit has begun to be installed at Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3, and the first multi-ton parts have already been installed at a height of 12 meters.

10.04.2023

The construction of the second power unit is carried out within the framework of the project to increase the capacity of the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-3, included in the Yeniseiskaya Sibir KIP.

The assembly of the 185 megawatt turbine began with the installation of one of its most massive parts, the base of a low—pressure cylinder, on the foundation. The 110-ton part was lifted to a 12-meter mark using two overhead cranes. 29 people were involved in the work.

The turbine of the new power unit consists of three cylinders: low, medium and high pressure. Its technological feature is reactive patching. With this technology, steam works more efficiently, while the equipment requires high precision in execution and great attention in operation.

After the low-pressure cylinder, the remaining parts of the turbine and the generator will be installed. In parallel, other construction and installation works are continuing at CHP-3: welding of frames and pouring of the foundation of the premises.

The commissioning of the new power unit is scheduled for the end of 2024. The construction of the second power unit, the cost of which is estimated at 27.5 billion rubles, will, according to experts, improve the quality and reliability of Krasnoyarsk's energy supply, create new opportunities for the development of the actively built-up Sovetsky district and the Pokrovka microdistrict. The launch will also allow to redistribute the load between stations, withdraw part of the thermal capacity of the Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1 and provide a reserve for the development of the city.
