Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov visited the airport during a working visit to Krasnoyarsk.
Here, the head of the federal department got acquainted with the infrastructure and inspected the progress of the apron reconstruction, discussed with the head of the region Mikhail Kotyukov key projects for the development of the air hub.
Maxim Reshetnikov was told that the main part of the first stage of the reconstruction of the Krasnoyarsk airport apron has already been completed, the construction readiness of the facility is 70%. It is planned to complete the work by the end of the year. In particular, the main concrete pavement has been laid, and the installation of engineering infrastructure is being completed. In total, after the reconstruction, more than 100 thousand square meters of reinforced concrete pavement will be replaced, platforms for apron mechanization and de-icing treatment will be equipped, lighting systems, drainage network and electric cable lines will be installed.
Mikhail Kotyukov noted that in order to create a large logistics hub, the reconstruction of the airport infrastructure should be continued.
"The most important transport routes – aviation, rail, river, and automobile - pass through the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Therefore, our strategic task is to turn the Krasnoyarsk air hub into a powerful transport and logistics hub in the coming years. On the one hand, it should provide interregional transportation, on the other hand, connect the European part of Russia with Asian countries. The development of the air hub requires modernization and the creation of a new infrastructure. First of all, this is the reconstruction of the runway and the second stage of the reconstruction of the apron," said Mikhail Kotyukov, head of the region.
The Minister of Economic Development of Russia noted that the loading of the new aerocomplex in Krasnoyarsk will also be facilitated by the decisions taken by the Government of the Russian Federation on the introduction of visa-free group trips with China, as well as the introduction of an electronic visa.
"All this will create an additional incentive for tourists from other countries to travel to the Krasnoyarsk Territory, which is traditionally popular with foreign travelers," Maxim Reshetnikov said.
Recall that the project of creating and developing an international hub based on Krasnoyarsk and Cheremshanka airports is included in the Yenisei Siberia KIP.
