In the Republic of Tyva, a new sanatorium-resort and wellness complex "Cheder" began operating in 2025. The project was implemented according to an individual program of socio-economic development of the region and is included in the integrated investment project (CIP) "Yenisei Siberia". The total amount of budget financing amounted to 807 million rubles, private investments – 840 million rubles.
The Cheder complex has been put into operation in stages since 2023, and full-fledged work began in January 2025. Its capacity is 252 people for a one-time stay, and the annual capacity reaches 59,177 patients. In the summer season, the workload of the sanatorium is about 60%, in winter – about 40%.
The resort is located on the shores of Lake Cheder, which has the status of a natural monument. Its main health-improving factors are mineral waters and healing mud, which have proven therapeutic effectiveness. According to the conclusion of the Tomsk Research Institute of Balneology and Physiotherapy, the natural resources of Lake Cheder are indicated for the treatment of a wide range of diseases, including diseases of the circulatory system, nervous and musculoskeletal systems, digestive organs, genitourinary and endocrine systems, as well as skin pathologies.
Of particular value is the presence of hydrogen sulfide in mud and mineral waters, which makes the resort especially useful for industrial workers. The procedures carried out in the sanatorium help to cleanse the body, restore its functions and improve overall health. The multifunctional complex also offers guided tours of the unique places of Tuva, as well as the opportunity to get acquainted with the culture and traditions of indigenous peoples.
"The opening of Cheder expands the opportunities for improving the health of residents of Siberia and other regions, contributes to the economic development of Tuva, creating new jobs and increasing the tourist flow. Its unique natural resources and modern infrastructure make it possible to consider it as a promising destination for domestic and international medical tourism," said Olga Korosteleva, General Director of the Yenisei Siberia Development Corporation.
Work is currently underway to attract additional investments in the resort's infrastructure and expand partnership programs with enterprises interested in improving the health of their employees.
