Territory
city of Krasnoyarsk
Investment size
201.4 million rubles .

Plasma recycling and disposal of dangerous risky healthcare waste.

Advantages of the project:

  • The company cooperates with such structures as: the Institute of Electrophysics and Electric Power Industry of St. Petersburg, BRICS, the CIS Cooperation Organization, the Union of CC CCI;
  • The installation can be used in places of local accumulation or formation of hazardous medical waste in quantities of ~1,200 tons per year.;
  • The main feature and the main competitive advantage is the use of alternating current. This makes it possible to use relatively simple and cheaper power sources (compared to DC plasma torch power systems), which are equipped with standard energy equipment, as well as achieve high rates (up to 94%) of converting electrical energy into plasma energy.;
  • The spent reagents of gas purification systems can be subjected to additional technological processes to extract useful substances from them.

Background:

  • There are several large medical institutions in Krasnoyarsk that generate significant amounts of hazardous medical waste (classes B and C) on a daily basis and may require recycling services.;
  • Growth in the volume of hazardous medical waste: up to 2020, the increase was 5-6% annually, but after the pandemic, the pace increased;
  • The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the volume of hazardous waste to 3.4 kg/bed/day due to the increased use of disposable protective equipment.;
  • About 15% of all medical waste is considered dangerous (infectious, toxic, radioactive), while 85% is general non—hazardous waste.
